Memorial day weekend

Yes, late as usual!!

We had a great but busy memorial day weekend. I had to work on Saturday and I thought we had a birthday party Saturday but it turns out it wasn't until Sunday. So we spent most of the day at the park, just letting the kids play. Then Sunday we had church and we had two birthday parties to go to. The first birthday party we attended was at our local pool, and the kids had a blast! We spent most of it inside at the baby pool, which is heated. It was a nice day, but not really warm enough to be outside. We did venture to the outdoor pool for about 15 minutes. And that was all we could take! We then headed to our next birthday party. A little girl who turned nine, I have known her since she was in her mama's belly. I even kept her when she was an infant. So it was extra special to celebrate another birthday with her. They had a cookout with lots of great food, followed by Kendra opening presents. We then headed outside and the kids played on the swing set with frisbees and all the other presents Kendra got! And I got to hang out with my longtime friend Kelly and my sissy! A great evening!
Memorial Day we spent the morning at home. I rearranged the kids rooms and weeded some of my flower beds. While Randy and his mom planted our garden. The kids Played in the sprinkler while we did all the work! We then headed in and got ready and went to Mimi and Papa's house. We had a memorial day cookout and swim party. The weather was really nice, very warm but the water was still cold! The kids didn't seem to mind as much as JoHo and I! We still had fun though! After we ate too much dinner we took a walk down to the barn and the boys spotted the tractor. So, we had to go get PaPa to take then for a ride! Of course they absolutely loved it!

All in all it was a great Memorial Day weekend!! Not neatly long enough but still a great one! Lots of pictures!!

Wyatt's Day

Wyatt's birthday was Monday the 13th of May.  We celebrated with a party on Saturday.  But we also celebrated on his actual birthday.  Jillian's preschool class was going to the Zoo, and I thought what fun that would be to do on Wyatt's birthday.  I drove separately from the school so we got to stay most of the day.

This guy wanted to get a close up.  And Wyatt, he wasn't too sure about that!

We got to see the trainer work with Sasha the tiger.  It was pretty cool!

Wyatt's favorite, the elephants.  He loved them!

We then headed back but made a pit stop at my work and visited the kittens.

Of course they loved squeeze'n on these cuties!

We finished off his birthday with a spaghetti dinner, one of Wyatt's favs, and of course Cake!
I took way more pics with my good camera but haven't edited them yet!  This was mild, trust me!

After a quick hose down in the tub, which almost turned red!  We went outside and the let the kids play!  The perfect ending to a perfect Birthday!  It was the best day!!

The 139th Kentucky Derby

Saturday was the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby! Always a big deal, here in Kentucky! We are the horse Capitol of the World. I have never been to the Derby but I have been to the next best thing, a Derby party! The best Derby party if you ask me! All of my Dad's closet friends put it on. My dad and a few others are the bookies! And Ms. Nikki, whose house this shin dig is thrown at, prepares all kind of delicious foods and drinks. Everybody usual brings a dish or two as well. I always take an appetizer and a side dish for dinner. The racing starts at 11:30am and goes all day until the actual Derby run at 6:24pm. So we eat and drink and bet all day and then have dinner after the Derby! It really is so much fun, to hang out with family and friends, and watch the kiddos run wild! When it's warm enough, which yesterday was not, the pool is open and you can swim. But unfortunately yesterday was in the lower 60's and a little rainy. Everyone still had a great time! And I even bet the winning horse, Orb! He's been my favorite all along and he won! I only bet $2 on him but I won $12.50! Woohoo!!

Here are some pics from our day!! Happy Derby!!
