Boys and their toys

Someone is now beginning to like toys.  Now that Wyatt can use his hands, he loves to hold things, blankets, burp clothes, your finger and especially toys.  Among an assortment of other toys, he seems to be pretty fond of this one.  I found it at a consignment sale!

He's really griping it!

Daddy is soo proud because this toy is a concrete truck.  You see, Daddy drives a concrete truck, (well, for now), Pee-Paw drives a concrete truck and I believe Pee-Paw's dad drove a concrete truck too.

When you push down on the little driver man it makes noise and the truck rolls.  Daddy thinks this one is your favorite.  I'm not sure that it isn't but there are a few other toys you've had your eye on lately!  Could be all the bright colors, could be that they're all new to you,  all I know is you are having a blast with them.

I know that there will be many more to come, but I couldn't resist documenting this first one!

Fall Festival Time

We went the Simpsonville Fall Festival this Saturday.  Jillian enjoyed the inflatables, getting her face painted, for the third weekend in a row, and watching the parade!

Jillian is so scared of these things!

Boo to him, he was out of candy by the time he got  to us!

She was a butterfly, she picked it.

Me and my high school friend Heather

I ran into a good high school friend, whom I hadn't seen in forever!  It was great to talk and catch up a little.  That's her little man Hunter, what a cutie!!

We had a great time, it did start to get a little warm, HOT, so we headed out about 2.

Sunday was actually pretty laid back, thank goodness, we hadn't relaxed on a weekend in a while.  Totally overdue!  We went to church, lunch and back home to relax while the kiddos napped.  Then to supper with PaPa, my dad , at the local Mexican restaurant.  Post to soon follow on that!

Happy Monday All!!

Family Movie Night

Rio Poster

Last night we had a family movie night.  We've only tried this a time or two before, and they all end the same way, with Randy and I watching a kids movie.  Which isn't all that bad.  We rented the movie "Rio", picked up a $5 pizza, and drank orange soda.  I think Wyatt may have enjoied it the most.  He sat in his bouncy seat half way through, then in my lap for the rest.

Jillian curled up with daddy

The kiddos in front of the tv

Jillian stayed intrested for the begining, we lost her to her toys in the middle, and she came back for the end.  Best part of the night goes to the credits.  Jillian and Wyatt both enjoied the music and mommy dancing.  Don't worry there were no photos involved.  So we had a dance party after the movie was over.  Wyatt even got in on the dancing, on the coffee table!  I just love making these great memories, priceless!!

Jillian tried holding her bubbie, I'm hanging on to him!

Holiday Weekend

Another week has come and gone leaving us with another great weekend.

Some details:  Saturday afternoon I picked up what was left of the clothes from the consignment sale, I'll have you know I made, drum roll please.......$368!!  Wow, was I so surprised, and I came back with only 5 mostly full sterlites, (I had 11).  I did buy from the sale too, spending $116 the first night,(pre-sale for sellers)  and $65 on half price day, still profiting almost $200!!  I pretty much outfitted both kids for Fall and Winter.  Jillian will still need some shoes and a winter coat, Wyatt some hats!

My friend Cassie getting her baby fix

Saturday Evening:  A cookout with some friends at their house.  I made some chocolate covered oreo mint balls and nutter butter/peanut butter balls.  Jillian had a blast.   The girls ate cupcakes, while the rest of us cringed at the blue and red faces!

These 2 play so well together

Jillian and Kenzie, would ya believe they are only 2 months apart.

Sunday after church:  We went to Nick Vegas, as my husband calls it, Nicolasville, to visit my sister-in-law, her husband Jay and my adorable niece Shelby.  We were joined by Pe-Paw, Randy's dad and Alex, Randy's step brother.  The girls had a great time playing together and the adults had great conversation and some delicious food.  I took the rest of the chocolate balls and they were a big hit.  We deep fried some okra, cause that's the way we southern folk do, and Wyatt got passed around like a sack of potatoes, but he loved it.

The Girls, they are a year apart but could almost pass as twins!

I told ya he got passed around a lot!  Kimmie, did you hold him?  Sorry I got no pics of you holding him.  Rest assured baby boy, she loves ya!

This one is my favorite, the girls and their Pe-Paw

And just to prove she was there and how funny this picture is, Pe-Paw is trying to figure out Aunt Kimmie's texting!

Monday/Labor Day:  Oh what a day.  It started off great with the kids sleeping until 9am.  Yay for mommy and daddy!!  We had plans to go to the zoo, but it was very rainy that morning so we waited until it stopped before we headed out.  Half way to louisville Jillian got sick in the car.  Poor thing, I pulled off on the side of the interstate to clean her up.  When I finally stopped gagging, the mess was gone but shew, not the smell!  Not sure of what to do at this point I ask Jillian how she felt and she said "I wanna go to da zoo!"  So to the zoo we went after a quick trip to Target for some non-vomit smelling clothes, eww sorry that was gross as Jillian would say.  Jo-Jo met us at Target, she opened Jillians car door, Jillian had been sleeping and woke up to say,"Jo-Jo, I puked all over myself!"  OMG, I thought my sister and I were gonna pee our pants.  We finally get to the zoo, to find that the parking lots were all full, even the grass areas.  We couldn't figure out what was going on, so we asked at the ticket window.  He told us it was the Union Labor Picnic for all Union members.  IT. WAS. PACKED.  Had we known how packed it was gonna be, we would not have gone.  We still had a good time, but only got to see half the animals because of how many people were there it took forever to get through the crowds with our mack daddy stroller and wagon!
Wyatt man relaxing in his stroller

Ready for the zoo in her wagon, the only way for a 3 year old to ride!

The elephants put on a show, holding tails.
Jillian and I shared a soft pretzel and blue icee
It turned out to be a good day, and Miss Jillian felt great!  We had a great weekend, how 'bout you?  Have a great week!

Letters to Jillian #1

Dear Jillian,

You may not remember now, but you had a wonderful, caring, and loving grandmother, whom you called GiGi!  GiGi was my mommy.  Your GiGi got sick and God made her an angel in heaven.  Now she watches over us everyday!  Mommy misses her very much, and I want you to know this great lady, who adored you.  Your daddy will tell you to this day that mommy had you, a baby girl, just for GiGi.  You helped her live as long as she could!!

This is your beautiful GiGi!

Let's start with her name.  GiGi.  Before you were born she actually wanted you to call her Grams, from one of her and mommy's favorite shows Charmed.  You had other plans, you couldn't say Grams very well, so we had to think of something else.  Your GiGi was a very classy lady and couldn't be called the normal Grandma or Nana, she wanted something hip and young. From then on  the name GiGi was what you would call her.

The first time GiGi got to hold you!  She was in LOVE!

When mommy was pregnant with you, I thought you were a boy.  Sorry!  Your GiGi thought you were a girl, but she would have loved you no matter what.  I'll never forget the day of my ultrasound at the doctors office.  The lady looking at you in my belly said, It's a Girl!  Daddy and I were very shocked, again sorry, but we thought you were a boy.  As we left the doctor's office that day I called GiGi and said well mom, you know how they say that your mother is always right, (please remember this as you get older!), well you were.  She was so happy, I think she told the whole world that day that she was gonna have a granddaughter!

See how proud she was!

GiGi was there for your birth, and couldn't wait for you to arrive.  She stayed with mommy the whole time, through the epidural and through the pushing, but when it came down to it I had to have you via c-section so only Daddy could be in the OR.  When you finally did arrive, she was so overjoyed!

She didn't/couldn't take her eyes off you

I think she could have held you all day if we let her!  She loved you from the moment she saw you.

Precious time

Jillian you were your GiGi's pride and joy and I really do believe you gave her the strength and the will to live. But sometimes that's not enough and her body couldn't take it anymore.  I want you to always know how much she loved and adored you, so I will continue to write you letters reminding you of the wonderful time and memories you shared together.  We were so blessed to have her in our lives.  There will be days when we are sad, but just remember she is still here, in our hearts.

Love,
Mommy
