Shhhh, don't tell this little guy, but he turned ONE yesterday! I can not believe it. I have so many pics to share, that I'm going to split them up into two posts.
We celebrated his big day on Saturday. His theme, Dr. Seuss. I really did my homework on this one. I searched Google and Pintrest and found numerous blogs that had great ideas. My main inspiration was this blog, Little Pumpkin Grace, and Hudson Too! She's great, love her blog.
Details:
I made little name signs for all the food. I googled Dr. Seuss clip art, and made my own signs with word art. We already had a ton of Dr. Seuss books, and even some stuffed animals. The Wocket from There's a Wocket in My Pocket, and Cat from The Cat in the Hat. I displayed both the books and the stuffed animals on the tables. The Truffula Tree's on the wall were actually made by a teacher at Jillian's preschool. They did a unit on Dr. Seuss in March and she said I could use them. Yay! They were the perfect backdrop.
Food:
Truffula Tree Cake Pop's
Hop on Pop Popcorn
One fish, two fish, RED fish (Swedish/gummy fish) in a fish bowl
One fish, two fish, GOLD fish (rainbow goldfish crackers, one of Wyatt's favorites!)
Cat in The Hat Marshmallows-Marshmallows with Red Sugar Sprinkles
Star Belly Sneetch Cookies-Sugar cookies with yellow and green icing
I bought the two banners, and Jo-Jo cut out letters in black construction paper to spell Wyatt. I cut strips of a white table cloth and taped them to the red table cloth to resemble The Cat in The Hat's hat.
Sign in table:
I bought the cutest Happy Birthday book by Dr. Seuss book for Wyatt. Then had everyone to sign it as they came in. The table also featured Wyatt's birthday invite, his party hat, (I made), and a cute little poem, complete in a Dr. Seuss rhyme.
My best friend's step dad made this absolutely perfect sign! Another quote from the Happy Birthday book.
Gift table, Timeline banner. My sister and I made the timeline banner. I've been taking Wyatt's picture every month and wanted to show them off. We just used paper, a little spray adhesive and some ribbon. Voila!
Little man's first present was a biggy, and he loved it! Thanks Memmaw and GP!! I think he could have rode around in that truck all day!
Entertainment:
A huge blow up pool with hundreds of balls!! Our kids love this!
It also serves as a play pen. He can't get out by himself. That's the only way I got to set up the party!
He already looks so much bigger and older!!
I saved all the really good stuff for the next post! We're talking cake baby!! I really mean it, cake all over the baby!! Until then.....
Oh my goodness, I ADORE the Dr Seuss theme! You did a great job. Looks like it was a lot of fun :)
