First treatment
I'm sitting here with Randy, at the Oncology office, while he takes his first chemo treatment.
Back up to Monday. We meet with the nurse practitioner who went over test and scan results. Heart and lung tests came back good, but the PET scan did show cancer has spread some. Some being in his chest and under his left arm. The big kicker was/is the tumor that has grown from the infected lymph node, has grown around his veins and other lymph nodes. Staging him at 2a. Not horrible news, not the best, but still very CURABLE! Yes you read that right, this cancer has an over 90% cure rate. Woohoo!!
So here we are at his first chemo treatment. This is the first of at least 8 treatments. Each treatment consists of 4 different chemo drugs, all having different side effects. They start him out with a bag of nausea meds and steroids. Then the nurse comes in with all the chemo drugs. We should be here about 3 hours, every other week. After the first 4 treatments, 8 weeks, he'll have another CT scan and PET scan. This will tell us if the first rounds of chemo have worked/killed the cancer cells. If it comes back negative he will have 4 more treatments of the same 4 drugs, just to make sure they get it all. If the scan shows there are still some cancer cells present they will switch him to a different set of chemo drugs and possible radiation.
So far so good. He only got a little nauseous with the first drug but now he's doing fine. Just sitting here watching the Olympics. They say the side effects/lethargy usually kick in around day 5-7.
As soon as he's finished, we'll go get the kiddos from school, spend an hour or so with them then take them back. We actually have a date night planned tonight! The kid's school is hosting a parents night out, so Randy and I are going to the horse show!
I'll keep you all posted on everything. It may take me a little while to report but I'll try to keep everyone up to speed.
Happy Weekend!!

Random Thoughts
Lots and lots of things going on around here lately.
1. Sunday was my ONE year anniversary of blogging! I was sad I missed it, but am so happy I started blogging! It has and is a great way for me to document all the wonderful and not wonderful moments in our lives!
2. This week, Randy has 5 different tests to take in 2 days. He's not a happy camper, but who can blame him.
3. We had an awesome weekend filled with family and friends, who have made this diagnosis a little easier to swallow.
4. Randy got to go fishing twice in one day with his best friend, and I got some time with mine best friends as well. Always great therapy!
5. I'm probably going to do a full post on this later but, I am so extactic to announce that my bestest Sisiter-in-law is moving back home, close to us! It's been way to long since they moved away and I am just beyond thrilled that she and her husband and my niece are back. Fun times ahead!
6. These 2 little girls are going to love living close almost as much as me!!
8. We have been blessed with so many thoughts and prayers from so many people. It's overwhelming, (in a good way), the amount of people who care and are praying.
9. Which brings me to the blogging community. You guys are AWESOME! When I wrote the prayer for Randy, I had close to 200 page views, (some were from fb), and numerous comments. Thank you all so much for caring about us! It's a pretty cool feeling to know that people I've never "really" met, are praying for us. A-MAZ-ING!!
10. And for my fb friends and family, OMG, my page blew up with kind and thoughtful words. I took at least 5 to 6 screen shots, just so I could save them to look back on. Thanks guys!!
11. We are putting together a totally last minute yard sale for Saturday. I'm crazy for doing it, but stuffs gotta go and there's no time like the present!
12. Jillian's preschool teacher asked me today if she was always this entertaining. I told her for the most part yes. I thought it was so cute!
13. Little man got his first goose egg on his head this week. He was chasing his sissy around at my grandmothers and slipped and fell on his head! Poor baby!
14. We've had a few storms this week, one that produced some good size hail. But it's suppose to be a nice 85 on Saturday! I'm hoping!!
Have a great weekend!!

Saturday's Top 5 Laughs
We really needed some laughs this week! So here we go!
1. A car started to turn into us and I yelled, "don't hit me." Jillian in the back seat asked me, "what did u say." so I repeated myself and she said, "Yeah cause our car will break and mommy will bust your butts!".
2. While eating dinner at the table, Randy asked Wyatt if he could go to bed with him since he was tired. Jillian said, "no daddy your not a baby your a big boy!"
3. From there the convo went to panties and Jillian said, "mommy wears panties, right mommy."I said "right", She said "your my girl mommy!". It was so funny!
4. Wyatt kept stealing Jillian's Barbie computer, and they would both scream. Finally Jillian walked away and Wyatt took it but he looked at her 5 times as he was walking away with it! Like, I hope she doesn't catch me!!
5. Our horse Dixie had sweat really bad one humid day this week, and Jillian said "she turned black!". She's actually the color Bay, a medium brown color!
I am linking up with Mel at The Mommyhood Chronicles!
