Thanksgiving Weekend Part One

Better late then never, right?  In my defense, Wyatt and I have both been battling a nasty cold.

We had a great 5 day holiday break.  Great time with our families and some tasty foods!  We started it off by going over to my Mammaw Helen's house last Wednesday to "help" her cook.  Since Wyatt was sick I took him to the doctor mid-day, needless to say, I didn't "help" very much!

I'm thankful for cousins!

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, we headed over to Mammaw Helen's for lunch.  I don't know about you guys, but my grandmother cooks the old fashion way.  Meaning no pre-made, boxed, canned of frozen food.  She makes everything from scratch, and it is the best food ever.  And she puts out a schmorgusboard, (I think that's how you spell it) of food, any thing and everything.  We all suffered from a food coma after lunch, but boy was is worth it.  After lunch we all enjoyed each others company, talking and laughing and watching the babies play.THANKFUL, for everything God has blessed us with!

Thursday Night, Also known as Black Friday Eve!!!  Was my first official year going Black Friday Shopping, and I'm still contemplating how worth it, it was!  I had a blast with my cousin Cynthia, from Clarksville.  We decided to stay up and go shopping, you know to get the best deals.  Or just to join the other billions of crazy people who stand in long, crowded lines, FOREVER, just to get a good deal!  I am proud to say that I have all the kiddos finished for Christmas!!  Yay!!

Craziness!!

I'm literary just standing in one place, camped out for almost 2 hours, madness!!

Part 2 soon to follow!

  3. Great post. I agree with everything you said, especially the sister being my best friend thing. I am so thankful that we grew close together and that we have one another to lean on in times when we would have normally turned to our mom. I am thankful that we had great times with our mother and memories that we will share for a lifetime. I am thankful that we have such wonderful kids who get along so great and I am thankful that they get to spend so much time together. I am thankful for our wonderful families for everything God has given and continues to give us. I am thankful for everything that we work hard to make for ourselves and that we had such great parents to teach us those things, and I am thankful to have a sister like you. Love you!
